Scientific Modeler
Job Description:
The scientific Modeler will be responsible for designing and implementing key predictive algorithms and know-how into user-friendly models that can be tested against rel-life running systems. Candidates are expected to have advanced skills and education in science, statistics, modeling, and programming. The incumbent will work as part of a multi-discipline team to ensure that know-how is implemented into a predictive model. He/she will perform scientific literature searches as needed to become an expert at understanding a multi-disciplined approach to quantifying and predicting biological behavior. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record modeling complex systems (biological systems preferred) but will be able to effectively communicate complex dynamics in a succinct and straight-forward manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- Successful track record modeling complex systems (biological system preferred)
- Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in a relevant field (biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, statistics, computer science, or similar
- Programming skills (Matlab, C++, Excel and/or any other relevant modeling tools)
- GUI development experience
- Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly to non-scientific audiences (written and verbally)
- Comfortable working in a multi-disciplined team with respect and collaboration
Travel:
This position requires travel between Parabel facilities, with minimal (<10% travel) to other states or internationally
